Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

Lake Nakuru is a soda lake with the highlight of Rift Valley Park. It is renowned for its stunning flamingo population depending on the time of the year. During the dry season, the water level falls and the lake becomes more alkaline generating more algae for the birds. At this time, the flamingos can swell to as many as a million birds giving the lake a pink color. The park is home to a variety of wildlife species including the rare species of black and white rhinos.
