NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

destination detail

Nairobi National Park is located just south of the city covering an area of 117 km2.  It is the first game reserve and the only protected area in the world that sits so close to a nation’s capital. With wide open grass plains and a backdrop of the city scrapers, the park has a great wildlife population despite its proximity to the city and its relatively small size and is perfect for those looking for a taste of East African safari, without having to travel too far. The park is amazing with attractions such as wildlife species, bird species, an ivory burning site, and the orphanage.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Nairobi National Park is during the dry season from July to October and from January to February. During this time the vegetation is sparse making it easier to spot wildlife.
