Tsavo East National Park is the oldest and largest national park in Kenya covering a total land area of 13747 km2 and is situated in the Semi-arid area of the famous Taru desert. It is famous for its large herds of red-dusted elephants which like rolling on the red dusty soil. The famous Kenyan park is one of the premium national parks in Kenya, home to the longest plateau in the world covering a distance of over 300 kilometers. The Yatta Plateau is a key tourist attraction besides the wildlife species.

Best time to visit

May to October is the best time to visit Tsavo East and Tsavo West. The wildlife is easier to spot since they gather around the waterhole. However, the park can be visited at any time of the year.
